The 2025 Poppy Campaign is Oct 31 to Nov 11
Some Volunteer duties begin Oct 27 and end Nov 14
Every year, from the last Friday of October to November 11, tens of millions of Canadians wear a Poppy as a visual pledge to honour Canada’s Veterans and remember those who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today.
The Poppy is distributed freely to all who wish to wear one, and the Legion gratefully accepts donations to the Poppy Fund.
Here is a list of positions we need to fill:
Poppy Distribution
- Deliver Poppy Boxes to business/residential buildings.
- Pick up/exchange poppy boxes (replenish as needed).
Locations include: Downtown 6th to 9th Ave 11th street SW to 8th SE (to Confluence Historic Site and Parkland), Ogden, Lynnwood, Auburn Bay, Mahogany, Inglewood.
Taggers
- Take poppy trays and sell them at specified locations in the downtown core and at Flames and Hitman and Wranglers hockey games.
Wreath Delivery
- Distribute Wreaths to specified locations.
Poster and Literacy Competition
- Arrange for application information to get to each school.
- Drop off of entries to Branch.
- Judges.
Clean-up/Poppy Sorter
- After all poppy boxes are returned to the branch, sort and separate supplies and store for the next year.
