2025 Cadet Medal of Excellence

On June 4, 2025 Phil MacAulay, the President of the Royal Canadian Legion No.1 Branch proudly presented the Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence to Warrant Officer Jean Smid, a Cadet of the Calgary 1955 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps.

This prestigious medal is awarded each year to Cadets who have demonstrated outstanding citizenship beyond the Cadet program.

In addition, each year a portion of the Calgary Branch Poppy Fund is donated to the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corp to support their programs. This year the Royal Canadian Legion No. 1 presented a cheque for $9,950 to the 1955 Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corp.
